The Adventures Continue in Northville

From Sister Mecham's email:

"I seem to be getting more used to what missionary work entails. Our investigators pool has gotten a lot smaller this past week so we have been tracting quite a bit, and asking for referrals. Monday night we tracted into a man named John. We taught him The Restoration and he loved it. He's baptist and has a strong belief in Christ. We taught him again on Saturday about The Plan of Salvation. He asked if we could meet with him again this we and so we set up another appointment with him. John also has been telling his wife about our visits and she will be at our next appointment. We gave him a copy of The Book of Mormon and he seemed to be excited to read it. John has helped "set my soul on fire." Being a missionary can be discouraging at times, and sometimes it feels like no one will hear or accept your message. But then people like John come around and all of the harsh words spoken and the doors slammed in your face make it all worth it. To see the light of truth in their eyes and see their faith begin to grow is a feeling words cannot describe.

Oh and tomorrow President and Sister Holmes are taking all of the sisters to downtown Detroit for a little sight-seeing. I'm really excited! And after we are doing some training and exchanges.

First Area- Northville, MI

 I'm in Northville and it's in the Westland district. My address is 44620 N. Hills Dr. B 26 Northville, MI 48167. I will be here for at least 12 weeks because they have a 12 week training program and I stay with my trainer the whole time. My companion is Sister Goodman and she's a farm girl from Missouri. Her family is turkey farmers. She's so great and I'm excited we are companions. We are going to show President Holmes what two farm girls really can do. President and Sister Holmes are AMAZING!
